10/1 Ah, where to begin with the chronicle of our DCGOP Chairman, Steve Peck? Picture this: a meeting tonight at the Douglas County Library orchestrated by Chairman Peck himself, billed as a chance to hear from DCSD Board President Christy Williams on why Douglas County voters should embrace keeping higher taxes under 5A because, apparently, "lower taxes" isn't quite the Republican mantra it used to be. The usual spiel unfolded; it was about the children. It is really about budget mismanagement, courtesy of Erin Kane.
During tonight’s enlightening session, amid the drone of predictable rhetoric, we ventured into the realm of equity in education, cue the horror stories about the recent teachers polling Brandi Bradley children on their pronouns and rewriting history to claim DaVinci was gender fluid (WTH). What will be DCSD's groundbreaking solution to such educational escapades? It's not the obvious firing spree one might expect, but rather, wait for it, re-training. Yes, because nothing solves deep-seated progressive issues like a good PowerPoint presentation.
Props to Jeff, an attendee who bravely peppered President Williams with pointed questions about her rather loose interpretation of fiscal conservatism. Her dodges were so artful you'd think she was training for the Olympic Dodgeball rather than running a school district. Jeff predicted her electoral doom in 2025; frankly, who would disagree?
But let's circle back to the main event, Chairman Peck. As the meeting wound down, I asked President Williams for some clarity about her "conservative" approach to cozying up to the teachers' union to peddle election literature for 5A, literature that is plastered with the names of Democratic candidates opposing our Republican champions, Matt Beacham HD 43, or how about the Democrats running against Lauren Boebert in CD4? Our Chairman, whose singular job is to secure Republican victories, must have had a stroke; that is the only plausible answer.
Alas, the responses were a masterclass in non-answers. The chairman didn’t even look up from his lap when I asked the question. And the cherry on the sundae, can someone explain how our GOP chairman justifies using what I can only assume are precious GOP funds for this spectacle? As I understand, the DCGOP paid for the meeting room and probably tapped into our GOP Zoom subscription, all in the service of promoting Democratic triumphs in Douglas County, oh, yeah, 5A, too.
Given Chairman Peck's enthusiastic partnership with DCSD to boost Democratic candidates, I'm not just suggesting he needs to go—he must go! If he won’t resign gracefully, then it's on us, the DCGOP membership, to show him the door at the next meeting. This isn't just a minor slip, it's a full-blown betrayal of conservative values and principles we hold dear. The urgency of this situation cannot be overstated.
So, to every member of the Douglas County GOP, it's time to rally. Email, call, (repost), and do whatever it takes to ensure Steve Peck’s tenure as DCGOP Chairman is as short-lived as his commitment to Republican success. We, as members of the DCGOP, have a responsibility to uphold the values and principles of our party. We cannot afford leadership that mistakes a GOP Chairmanship for helping promote Democratic candidates. It's not just about ideological purity, it's about winning, something Peck seems to have forgotten.
And to those who say, "Hold on, we're just weeks away from the presidential election, isn't this bad timing?" Absolutely, the timing is tight. However, let's be clear: the real GOTV (Get Out The Vote) muscle isn't being flexed by Chairman Peck. It's stalwarts like Ed Hairfield, Steve Collier, and Luke Johnson, true conservative champions, who are steering the GOTV ship. They, along with you, the grassroots conservative warriors, are the ones pounding the pavement and making the real impact. Steve Peck? He's barely a blip on the radar when it comes to the essential work of GOTV for the DCGOP.
Okay, it’s time to watch the Vance vs Walz debate on the DVR.
