Burn All the Flags or None: A Call for Consistent American Values

In the latest episode of selective outrage, some folks have managed to twist an innocuous statement into a full-blown character assassination. The controversy? A call to burn the LGBTQIA+ flag, not out of hate, but to spotlight a glaring hypocrisy in our so-called "freedom of speech."
Here's the deal: if burning the American flag is a constitutionally protected act under the First Amendment, celebrated by some as a symbol of brave dissent, then why does burning another flag constitute a hate crime? Where's the consistency? It seems like justice only applies to some, depending on which flag you’re torching!
To those Establishment Republicans and RINOs frothing at the mouth to recall Dave for his provocative statement, take a step back. This isn’t about hatred; it’s about highlighting a double standard that undermines our very principles of equality under the law. Dave’s statement was a bold move to defend those principles, but instead of applause, he’s facing a smear campaign by those who apparently favor a hit job.
The solution? It's clear as day. We need to remove local Progressives and weak Republicans from elected positions. Ambitious, sure, especially in Colorado. But more immediately, we need federal clarity to roll back this absurdity. If the First Amendment protects the burning of the Old Glory (and for clarity, I am wholly against burning the American flag), it should surely protect the burning of any flag. And if that ruffles some feathers? Well, too bad.
We either stand for all expressions of freedom, or we stand for none. Let's choose consistency over the left’s hypocrisy.
Last Thoughts: A Plea for Patriotic Sanity
When the US Supreme Court ruled that burning the American flag was protected under free speech, let's not forget it was a liberal court. This decision insults those of us who hold the flag in the highest regard as the ultimate emblem of our nation's identity and sacrifices.
Fast forward to today, with a changed Supreme Court, there's a glimmer of hope that such a misguided decision wouldn’t stand. The American flag should NEVER be desecrated, it's not just a piece of cloth, but the symbol of our great nation's unity, resilience, and pride. Each time it’s burned, it’s not dissent, it’s blatant disrespect.
I plea for the day when a new case might ascend to the highest court, poised to overturn this offensive precedent. Such a ruling is more than necessary, it's a moral imperative to cleanse the stain left on our nation’s conscience. It’s about restoring dignity and reverence where it’s most due.
Our flag deserves our honor, and our laws should protect it. Here’s to hoping for a future where our judiciary upholds not just the letter of the law but the spirit of national pride.
