8/16 Kamala, Do you even know how economics works? Let's dive into the fanciful world of price controls, the economic equivalent of trying to milk cows when you have no thumbs. It's a simple lesson in the absurdity of trying to tell the market, "Hey, you're doing it wrong!" while everything inevitably goes upside-down when price controls are implemented.
Here's why price controls don't work:
Shortages Galore: Set a price too low, and watch goods vanish faster than a politician’s promises. Remember Venezuela's beef debacle? They tried controlling beef prices, and like magic, beef turned into a mythical creature, more likely to be spotted in tales of the black market than on a dinner plate. Venezuelan citizens were eating from the backs of trash trucks.
Quality Takes a Nosedive: When you slap a cap on prices, expect quality to plummet right after. Why strive for excellence when the reward is peanuts? Think about those Soviet cars, they were about as reliable as a paper umbrella in a hurricane.
Black Markets Boom: Ah, the unintended consequences of price meddling. Cuba’s a great classroom for this lesson, where a tube of toothpaste needs a black-market broker or a suitcase of cash.
Inflation’s Evil Twin: Price controls don’t curb inflation; they just dress it up in a disguise. Zimbabwe’s tale of hyperinflation could be a script for an economic horror film, where price controls only added more chaos to the mix. You needed a wheelbarrow to carry enough cash to go to the store.
Investment Dries Up: Imagine investing in a market where your profit is capped arbitrarily. Argentina’s agricultural adventures are a prime example, capped profits led to reduced output and more government band-aids on a bleeding economy.
From the conservative grassroots perspective:
Price controls are not just economically illiterate; they’re a violation of market principles, akin to a blind man painting the Mona Lisa with a push broom. The market, much like nature, abhors a vacuum. By setting artificial price limits, you're not mastering the economic winds, you’re just inviting a storm of chaos, corruption, and inefficiency.
To put it bluntly, Kamala, price controls are a masterclass in what not to do. Countries like Venezuela, Cuba, and the Soviet Union serve as perfect examples of how controlling prices is about as effective as fixing a broken watch by throwing it out the window. Sure, it stops ticking, but it's definitely not going to tell you the right time. But this is just what Kamala wants to happen in our country!
So next time you see Kamala or anyone else suggest price controls as a solution, maybe ask them if they remember how to solve problems without turning the whole system into a joke. Or just smack them upside the head! Because in the grand circus of economic policies, price controls are the clowns and Kamala is the Kackling Ringmaster.
The solution? TRUMP 2024!!!
For background, I was one of the top purchasers of Food Service food for a number of years, at one point purchasing $500,000,000.00 per year. I lived, breathed, and, yes, ate food for a living. I have heard a lot of ridiculous suggestions from politicians over the years, but this economic policy is one of the stupidest yet. And this person is running for President of our country, unbelievable!
