Alright, let's talk about a JD 23 candidate, George Brauchler. You might know him as the former DA of Colorado's 18th Judicial District or the guy who turned into a radio show host. But here’s the kicker, now he wants to be the DA for our new 23rd Judicial District. And frankly, that’s a hard pass from me and should be for you, too.
First off, let's get one thing straight. Brauchler is a flip-flopper extraordinaire. Remember the red flag law fiasco in 2018? Initially, George was all in, front and center, even helping draft the bill. He openly pushed for Colorado's red flag law that would allow the Colorado government to strip away your Second Amendment rights based on little more than a hunch. He was parading around like a hero at the press conference back in 2018, saying it was about mental health, not guns. Fast forward, and suddenly, George has a change of heart. He’s now against the law as he runs for JD23, shocker, it infringes on constitutional rights. Well, George, you can’t have it both ways. Either you stand for the Constitution, or you don’t.
Now, let's talk about his real claim to fame, the prosecution of the Aurora theater shooter. Brauchler went full throttle on seeking the death penalty despite the shooter offering to plead guilty to life in prison without parole. This decision led to a prolonged, expensive trial that cost taxpayers millions. And what did we get? A grandstanding DA who prioritized his political aspirations over justice and fiscal responsibility. Even worse, he made a rookie mistake by tweeting during the trial despite a judge's explicit order not to. That’s not just unprofessional, and it's downright reckless.
From a grassroot conservative standpoint, Brauchler's track record is shaky at best. He talks a big game about being a champion for conservative values, yet his actions scream otherwise. His support for red flag laws, which essentially promote gun grabbing under the guise of safety, is a blatant betrayal of our Second Amendment rights. And his handling of the Aurora case? It shows he’s more interested in his own fame than genuine justice.
We need someone in the 23rd Judicial District who stands firm on constitutional conservative values and principles, someone who doesn’t waver when the political winds shift. George Brauchler is not that person. He’s proven time and again that he’s willing to compromise our values for his gain. So, when it comes to electing our first DA for the 23rd, let's choose someone who truly represents us, that person is Dagny Van Der Jagt.
George Brauchler is not the answer for JD23. He is the Uniparty, Establishment, RINO give away our constitutional rights candidate. We deserve a DA who is consistent, principled, and unwavering in their commitment to conservative values, principles, and constitutional rights. Let’s make sure we don’t settle for anything less.
Vote for Dagny Van Der Jagt for JD 23 this June 25 in the Colorado State Republican primary.
