Parker, Colorado election circus

10/26  Folks, if you've been tuning into the Parker, Colorado election circus for the last 48 hours, you've probably enjoyed one of the greatest shows of political acrobatics since the last time a Hollywood elite tried to lecture us common folks about carbon footprints from their private jets while they order pizza. Let's cut through the circus sideshow with some good, old-fashioned grassroots conservative sense and expose the real clowns.

First up, let's address the melodrama around Brian Carruthers. Oh, the horror, a "Protection Order"! But let's not get too excited; The poster stressed it’s “Permanent.” In reviewing the site I was pointed to, I don’t see “Permanent” anywhere. If I missed it, please take a screenshot of it and send it over in the comments. This is just a lot of noise about nothing permanent or damning. If we hold Brian to this standard, what about your Trump vote? I suppose consistency isn’t exactly the strong suit of our dear Parker Town Council incumbents and their shilling minions.

Hold on, folks; it’s time for the high-wire act… Laura Hefta's political journey has been like walking that high-wire with mattresses below. Democrat 2004-2015, to Unaffiliated 2015 – 2020 to Republican 2020 (all dates are approximate). Just in time to snag a spot on the Parker Town Council by blending into the local Republican conservative scenery. Every good Democrat knows you can’t win in Douglas County unless you’re a Republican. Laura's voting record in 2023? It's more like a nodding bobblehead, with 145 total votes and 143 yes votes. If that's not a rubber stamp, I don't know what is. Clearly, she's auditioning for a lead role in Josh Rivero's puppet theater, not serving the people of Parker.

Speaking of Rivero, his leadership has turned the Parker Town Council into a mockery of representative government. His cronies running for re-election, Hefta, Hendricks, and Diak, follow suit with the backbone of a jellyfish.

Now, let's not forget about that recent Pride Fest in Parker. Laura was playing hide-and-seek behind her council member badge. She could not take a stand as a Parker resident and parent; she hid in the shadows as a Council Member like the reptile woman in the circus sideshow.

Meanwhile, Mayor Jeff Toborg was out there taming lions, fighting to slash the Parker grocery taxes for every Parker resident. That took just plain guts. When Josh Rivero thought that some of his personal play funds (your tax dollars) were in jeopardy, Josh led the Town Council to threaten to defund the police over the grocery tax, and now they are trying to pin it on Mayor Jeff Toborg. Guess what? The mayor doesn't wield that kind of power, but hey, why let facts get in the way of a good smear campaign?

Trying to make his circus comeback is none other than former Mayor Mike Wade, who is now a cheerleader for the same council he once led. Watching him defend this non-representative Town Council is just sad.

So, as the election looms (10 days), remember: The current town council, led by Josh Rivero and backed by followers like Laura Hefta, Todd Hendricks, and John Diak, isn’t just bad news, it's a rerun of every political mistake we've vowed to steer clear of. We’re not just fans in the stands; we're the grassroots conservatives making sure our voices drown out the council's carnival barkers. Vote wisely, Parker. Our town deserves leaders, not performers, in a political sideshow.

For your ballot, remember the following:

Mayor – Jeff Toborg

Town Council – Mike Drennan

Town Council – Tim Lynott

Town Council – Brian Carruthers
