Well, folks, it's that wonderful time again when the Primary ballots start hitting our mailboxes here in scenic Douglas County. As you sift through the candidates, consider this: Do you really want another tax-and-spend Republican masquerading as a conservative? Enter the arena: Lisa Frizell, currently in House District 45, now running for Senate District 2. Sporting a Colorado Liberty Score (CLS), that's more of a turkey than a hawk, a mere 71 this year. Now, you may say hey, wait a minute, Mark a 71 that is not so bad. Lisa's score in the 2023 session was a dismal 59.6. Let's be clear: she did not improve. She has a competitor for Senate District 2, a real grassroots conservative, running against her, Tim Arvidson.
If you want to see the other Bills Lisa disagreed with CLS in the 2024 session, Click Here. It’s over 200 bills.
But let's talk about her illustrious end to the 2024 session when she touted a Property Tax cut under SB24-233. Let’s dive into the reality, shall we?
SB24-233 is dressed up as a tax cut, but it's more like a wolf in sheep's clothing. Under this bill, Coloradans won't see any relief from the recent spikes in property taxes. In fact, this bill locks in the high rates we're already choked by, thanks to last year's increases. For a home valued at $400,000 in 2022, which already saw a 40% hike in taxes last year, the bill guarantees even higher taxes moving forward, with an increase in effective property tax rate from 5.14% under the current rates to 5.71% by 2026. That's an 11% hike, folks. And for a $700,000 home, it's an 8% increase. Doesn’t sound much like a tax cut to me! To see the full Bill review Click Here.
This so-called reform fails to provide long-term solutions or predictability. It includes several loopholes that essentially exempt half the tax base from the 5.5% district revenue limit, schools, home rule governments, you name it. The next time property values spike, we’re right back where we started, making SB24-233 a band-aid on a bullet wound.
Now, contrast this with Tim Arvidson, a true grassroots conservative challenger who isn't just running a campaign but is standing up for genuine conservative values. It's time to choose wisely, folks. Do you want real conservative leadership, or just more of the same old tax-and-spend song and dance with Lisa Frizell putting the lipstick on a pig?
Make your vote count. Opt for a candidate who actually stands for your interests, not just their own campaign survival.
Vote for Tim Arvidson for Senate District 2.
A Message from Tim Arvidson:
Patriot,
Who does Rep. Lisa Frizell work for?
Lisa Frizell has recently joined forces with the radical Democrats in the
House to sponsor SB24-233. This bill, far from being the property tax relief
Coloradoans desperately need in Joe Biden's failing economy, is actually an
IMMEDIATE increase in property taxes.
This bill is too little, too late, too convoluted, and too complicated for
legislative consideration. It picks winners and losers, which is not the
proper role of government. It fails to provide clear protections against
onerous property tax increases and allows the state to reimburse local
governments for revenue lost, essentially giving them a windfall of funds
that voters never approved.
This is a clear betrayal of conservative values and a slap in the face to
the hardworking people of Colorado. We need proven conservative fighters in
the Colorado Senate who will fight for We The People and not compromise our
paychecks away with the radical extremists in the legislature.
Why did Rep. Frizell wait until the last day of the legislative session to
partner with Democrats in creating this legislative "slop"? Coloradans
deserve better than this kind of political gamesmanship.
In Liberty,
Tim Arvidson
