30 Days of Excuses: Brita Horn Proves She’s in Over Her Head

Let’s talk about Brita Horn’s latest email on her first 30 days as Chair of the Colorado GOP and her well-oiled machine. This performance is so uninspiring that it makes a zoo monkey look like a Fortune 500 CEO. In her blushing “look at me” letter, Brita brags about driving her Jeep 1,500 miles and attending 22 events. Well, congratulations, Brita, you’ve mastered the art of the road trip. Unfortunately, running a political party isn’t about racking up miles like some political Uber driver; it’s about results, strategy, and, yes, steel-spined leadership.
True CEOs don’t waste time pointing fingers at their predecessors only the weak and truly lost failed leaders do this. But what’s the headline of Brita’s first month? Blame, deflection, and a forensic audit. Nothing screams “I’m out of my depth” louder than using precious time and resources to dredge up dirt on the last guy instead of focusing on “winning.” She’s so busy auditing the past that she’s forgotten her actual job: building a future. And really, does this build any Unity? A term she is so boldly tossed around at every chance, No. Go ahead, keep pissing off the real grassroots with your complete lack of self-awareness.
And her “operational achievements”? Pleeeeze. Standardizing workflows? Subleasing office space? It seems this playbook comes straight from the Heidi Ganahl crew, Road to Red or Doom. This is akin to rearranging deck chairs on the Titanic while heading straight into the iceberg. Oh, and her “big win” of giving volunteers “free” door-knocking software?
Let’s not overlook the classic rookie mistake: treating TV appearances and op-eds as if media hits automatically translate to victories. Newsflash: recycling the same old “big tent” nonsense won’t remedy a party losing trust in anything the Coup Crew says or does. It’s lazy, it’s worn out, and it’s exactly the kind of empty gesture we’ve come to expect from someone who was never suited for this role.
Brita Horn wanted this position so badly, but it’s painfully clear she’s nothing more than an empty husk in a CEO’s badge that is handwritten. Thirty days in, the verdict is simple: she’s already failed the first and easiest test of leadership. Real leaders don’t look backward; they build forward. Brita, it’s time to stop pretending you’re up to this. Colorado GOP deserves better.
As I continue to say, “We will show you the same grace you and the Coup Crew showed the last Colorado GOP officers, NONE.”
To all the people considering contributing to the Colorado GOP to help fund its grand strategy. Your money would be better spent giving directly to candidates and causes that align with your conservative values and principles rather than to these jokers currently leading the Colorado GOP.
