Amnesty and the 2A: Give an Inch, They Take the Country

While social media rubes are posting flowery pictures of Gabe Evans at the State Fair and elsewhere, I thought I’d take this beautiful, crisp Saturday morning to remind you of his betrayal of the citizens of Colorado and our country, trying to out-liberal the liberals. Gabe Evans, yes, that Gabe Evans representing Colorado’s CD8, Colorado, and our Nation, is proudly co-sponsoring the so-called “Dignity Act,” a name so misleading it should come with a warning label. This bill isn’t about dignity; it’s about amnesty, plain and simple. A free pass for people who broke the law and decided they were too special to fix it. Let’s not sugarcoat it: entering this country illegally is a crime. A federal crime. And yet, the “Dignity Act” says, “Hey, it’s been a while, you seem nice, why don’t we pretend none of that ever happened?” That’s like telling a bank robber, “Well, it’s been ten years and you didn’t rob any more banks—welcome to the board of directors.”

But here's the kicker: this is the same exact script we see with our Second Amendment rights. Every time we "compromise" with the anti-gun crowd, we lose more. They say, “Just give up bump stocks.” Then it’s “Just red flag laws.” Now it’s “Why do you need an AR-15?” Next it’s “Turn them all in.”

It’s never enough.

Just like with illegal immigration. “Just legalize the DACA kids.” Then, “Just the parents.” Then it’s “Well, you can’t split up families.” Then it’s “Give citizenship to the 20 million here already.” And finally? Open borders, folks. That’s the end game. No wall, no enforcement, just a free-for-all with your tax dollars footing the bill.

What happens when you "compromise" with people who hate your values? They take everything, and then laugh at you while doing it.

We do not—DO NOT—grant amnesty to lawbreakers just because they’ve been breaking the law for a long time. That’s not compassion. That’s surrender. And we don't surrender. Not on the border. Not on our guns. Not on our country.

Gabe Evans has chosen to appease. He’s chosen to betray the rule of law. And if we let this kind of Republican keep walking around with a (R) next to their name unchecked, we’ll soon be the minority in our own party, too afraid to stand for anything because we were too “dignified” to fight back.

So no, we will not “just give a little.” Because we’ve seen how that story ends—with our guns gone, our borders open, and our country unrecognizable.

We say no to amnesty.

We say no to compromise.

We say no to RINOs like Gabe Evans.
