District Lines Don’t Stop Stupidity

Well, patriots of Colorado, apparently, I’ve ruffled a few feathers (say it’s not so). Over the past week, my inbox and phone have lit up like the Las Vegas Strip because I’ve been writing about Congressman Jeff Hurd of CD3 and the always-helpful Gabe Evans of CD8. And to those asking why someone from CD4 dares to critique these two shining stars of political mediocrity, let me explain something simple: they vote on issues that affect all of us.
This isn’t middle-school dodgeball where we pick teams by district. When Jeff Hurd signs on to something like the GORP Act, which would lock up massive swaths of Colorado land that real people actually use for camping, hunting, or taking their kids outdoors, that affects me and every single person in this state who still believes public land should remain, well, public. And when Gabe Evans proudly co-sponsors his “Dignity Act,” a bill that gives mass amnesty to illegal immigrants under the warm and fuzzy banner of “compassion,” that affects the entire nation. But sure, let’s all pretend it only matters to CD8.
To those who have called, emailed, or even scolded me with their “stay in your lane” nonsense: get a grip. These politicians don’t just represent their district; they vote in Washington, D.C., where their actions shape the laws that govern you, me, and the entire country. So if you think I’m going to sit quietly while two so-called Republicans push left-wing nonsense, think again.
I’ll keep writing about them, calling them out, and exposing their nonsense until we either replace them with principled conservatives or at least make them sweat every time they see my name pop up. For Jeff Hurd, we’ve got Hope Scheppelman, someone who actually believes in conservative values and doesn’t melt under pressure from democrats. For Evans, well, we’ll see if voters in CD8 decide they’re done with his “Amnesty Betrayal Tour.”
And here’s a prediction: both Hurd and Evans will skip the 2026 Colorado assembly altogether and petition onto the ballot, because facing the grassroots requires guts, and these two seem fresh out. But that’s fine. We’ll keep showing up, keep speaking out, and keep holding them accountable. Because silence is what the establishment wants, and I’ve never been very good at giving them what they want.
