Oh, isn't this just precious? Brita Horn and Christy "Ruckus" Fidura, the dynamic duo of the recent Colorado GOP coup, have cooked up a real doozy this time. If you can't get the judge to help you overthrow the current Colorado GOP, why not just invent your own game? And the symbol for their grand new escapade? A unicorn. Because, of course, nothing screams "serious political strategy" like a mythical creature famous for its rarity and, let's be honest, utter non-existence. I'm guessing rainbows will be flying out of its backside, too.
Let's lay it out: lately, the Colorado GOP has resembled more of an internal battlefield being attacked from the inside by disgruntled RINO and Establishment Republicans. Their grand solution to the chaos after losing in the courts….. Not introspection, not a reduction in infighting, and certainly not a pivot to following Chairman Williams. Instead, they've launched "UNICORN SPOTTING" because if fantasy is on the table, why not aim for the stars with the most fantastical concept conceivable as your unity symbol?
And here's where the irony thickens. Enter Christy "Ruckus" Fidura of Pueblo, where the grand strategy of turning the city red seemed more akin to an accidental spill of red paint rather than a calculated political maneuver. It's the same city where the mayor, Heather Graham, heavily endorsed by Chrissy herself, seems quite at home among Democrats endorsing Frisch for CD3. But why let a minor inconvenience like political alignment interfere with getting Republicans elected?
So there they go, chasing unicorns, because grasping for practical, fundamental Republican strategies in Colorado now seems too pedestrian, too mundane. They're busy spotlighting individuals like themselves, Christy "Ruckus" Fidura. They should add the Mayor of Pueblo, Heather Graham, while you are at it.
Here's a novel idea for the UNICORN initiative: what if, just maybe, instead of fantasizing about mythical creatures, focus your time on understanding why the true grassroots conservative majority of the Colorado GOP base is in charge and not you? That shouldn't be too hard. But alas, why tackle real, biting divisions when you can parade around with tales of mythical unity after your failed coup?
In an era where political factions ought to battle over substantial issues, support real people, and forge genuine solutions, the FAUX Colorado GOP Coup leaders are out there, playing make-believe with unicorns. Because why not? When your political tactics are as elusive as the fabled unicorn, doubling down on the fantasy seems fitting.
