The Legitimate Colorado GOP SCC Meeting on Saturday, August 31, 2024

Today, at the only valid SCC meeting in August, the Colorado GOP made significant strides forward under the strong leadership of Chair Dave Williams. Today's meeting (8/31) was a palpable spirit of unity and determination, and it was deeply disappointing to see some state-elected officials miss the opportunity to participate and cast their votes, which is a foundational act of commitment to their constituents.

We praise those who stood resolutely today and were present, like Brandi Bradley from HD39, Mark Baisley from SD2, Kevin Van Winkle from SD30, Scott Bottoms from HD15, Ken DeGraff of HD22, and Stephanie Luck from HD60. Their unwavering commitment at today's meeting helped solidify our strategic direction and highlighted their steadfast allegiance to our core values and principles to the Colorado GOP.

However, the No-Show, No-Proxy of certain elected officials, namely Steve Peck and Meghann Silverthorn of the DCGOP, along with Anthony Hartsook from HD44 and Lisa Frizell from HD45, were notable disappointments. About 30 other State elected officials chose not to attend. This starkly contrasts with the unity and vigor demonstrated by the majority today. These individuals must recognize that their re-election bids depend on aligning more closely with the party's objectives and the expectations of their supporters.

Under Chair Dave Williams, today's gathering wasn't just routine; it was a crucial juncture that fortified the leadership's position through the overwhelming approval of bylaw amendments and a resounding vote of confidence to retain our current officers. This clear mandate from the party members underscores a collective endorsement of our leadership's direction and strategy.

As we edge closer to what may be the most critical election cycle in our history, our party can't afford distractions from faux leaders. It's time for every GOP member to rally vigorously behind Chair Williams and our leadership team. The focus now shifts to an all-out effort to ensure President Donald J. Trump's re-election (for the third time) and to advance our down-ballot candidates.

To those who demonstrated their loyalty and commitment today, your actions are deeply appreciated and crucial to success in our state. To those who were absent, it's time to step up and realign with your party's aims and the expectations of your constituents. Under Dave Williams' leadership, the GOP is surging ahead with renewed strength and unity, ready to tackle the upcoming challenges and transform our shared vision into reality.
