Why Your Hard-Earned Cash Should Skip the Colorado GOP's Black Hole of Overhead

Oh, sure, nothing says "fiscal conservatism" quite like handing over your donation dollars to a group that’s mastering the art of turning gold into lead. I'm talking, of course, about the Colorado GOP with their masterpiece: a $2.4 million budget over two years that's as lean and mean as a sumo wrestler trying to squeeze into skinny jeans. If you're a grassroots conservative patriot like me, you've got to ask yourself: Do I really want my money lining the pockets of Republican establishment party elites, funding exorbitant salaries, or the golden ticket health plans? Or should it actually, you know, help elect Republicans who might stand a chance against the Socialist Surge in Colorado?
I, for one, if I were the Chair, would do that position at no cost, yep, zippo, nada. Not a penny in salary. It would be my civic duty to serve the Republicans of Colorado; I’d rather see my salary go to great conservatives to support their campaigns and help get them elected. But that’s just me.
Let's break this down because transparency seems to be a foreign concept to these folks. Under Britta Horn, the Colorado GOP has devised a financial plan that shows zero, zip, nada, dedicated to direct contributions to candidates, as seen in their PowerPoint presentation. That's right, not a single dollar allocated as a direct campaign contribution that could actually help flip seats and defend our values and principles. Instead, your generous gifts will disappear into the black hole of "overhead." It's like donating to a charity that vows to end hunger but spends all its funds on gourmet meals for the board.
And get this, the whole thing reeks of insider and grifter shenanigans. This budget didn't get the proper review by the executive committee; no, it was rammed through in a shady online Zoom meeting. The budget was unveiled with a PowerPoint presentation that lacked accountability. If it had gone through the proper process with open debate and oversight, I bet my last MAGA hat it would've been laughed out of the room. But hey, why bother with oversight when you can push it through sneakily, like feeding your vegetables to the dog under the table.
Colorado Patriots, it's time to wake up. Your money should go directly to the candidates, not through a costly, swampy money drain. While it might take a little more effort to donate to candidates running for office, you'll rest easier knowing your dollars are supporting the front lines instead of lining the pockets of a boated beast. In a state like Colorado, where every vote matters and the left is eager to capitalize on Republican missteps, we can't afford to waste resources.
So, next time that donation email from the Colorado GOP hits your inbox, hit delete with extreme prejudice. Starve the beast, support the fighters, and let's win some elections.
Your wallet and your principles will thank you.
